WORD GALLERY Quick Reference Guide
TO RUN WORD GALLERY:
Set the current directory to the directory in which the WG files are located.
The syntax for running WG is: WG [command line switches]
COMMAND LINE SWITCHES
Display Mode Switches
Word Gallery normally tries to run in EGA mode (640x350 16 colors). It will
automatically detect your display adapter and run in the best mode possible.
You can override the auto mode selection with the following switches.
/WGM - Run in MCGA mode (320x200 256 colors)
/WGT - Run in TGA mode (320x200 16 colors)
/WGC - Run in CGA mode (320x200 4 colors)
Mouse Switches
Word Gallery normally uses an animated bee for the mouse cursor. You can change
the mouse cursor with the following switches.
/A- = Do not animate the bee.
/B- = Use the normal arrow mouse cursor.
Special Effect Switches
Word Gallery will use a random clearing effect to erase portions of the screen.
It will use this effect if you have a turbo XT or faster computer. You can
override the automatic selection for this feature with the following switches.
/E- = Disable the special effects.
/E+ = Enable the special effect.
Digitized Voice Switches
Word Gallery will disable use of the digitized voice if you have a 4.77 MHz PC
and your sound device is the internal speaker. Use these switches to override
the automatic selection of the voice option.
/V- = Disable the digitized voice.
/V+ = Enable the digitized voice.
WGSETUP
To run WGSETUP simply type WGSETUP. WGSETUP is used to select the words that
you want Word Gallery to use. It is also used to set the options. Some options
may only be set by WGSETUP while others can also be changed from the Word
Gallery program itself. Use WGSETUP first to make your sound device selection.
